Awoman from Lancaster County has been found guilty of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
44-year-old Moniqua Ramirez worked with at least six other people in efforts to smuggle cocaine into Central Pennsylvania from Puerto Rico, according to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam.
Officials say that cocaine was being sent through the U.S. Mail to various locations across Lancaster so that it could be further distributed.
The traffickers also sold heroin and fentanyl on the streets, according to the release.
They would then send cash back to Puerto Rico.
Ramirez’s six “coconspirators” — Ricardo Soto, Jonathan Lopez Arizmendi, Ricky Sanchez, Angel Leon-Rivera, Omar Carmenaty Morales and Lucas Doel Gonzalez-Alvarado — all pled guilty and have either received sentences or are awaiting sentencing.
