SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Jamaica’s Under-17 Reggae Girlz opened their Group A Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Championship campaign with a gutsy 2-2 result against hosts Puerto Rico at Estadio Juan Ramon Loubriel on Friday.

Tarania Clarke in the 11th minute, and Marlee Fray in the 69th got the goals for Jamaica, while Angela Diaz got both goals for the hosts in the 16th and 28th minutes. The Jamaicans and the host nation are on one point each, behind group leaders Cuba who clipped Bermuda 1-0 in the curtain raiser of the double-header.

Jamaica will contest their second game on Sunday against Bermuda.
